Action Messages

"Action Messages" is the place to find those national and state items that need to be brought to the attention of Districts and their Partners for possible ACTION.  There are Action Messages presented below:
Action Message 1

The deadline to submit pilot project proposals to NMDA has been extended from Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 5 p.m. to Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at 5 p.m.

NMACD would like to encourage all Soil and Water Conservation Districts to go to the NMDA web site and the link below.  Take a look at the grant program and think about how your district can be involved?  Contact Producers and other interested groups about applying for a GRANT!  NMACD has names and contact information of many contractors that your district can hire to help you put the proposal together for a minimal amount.  NMACD will also help districts any way that we can.  There are other groups like the Quivera Coalition and the Healthy Lands Working Group that also have expertise to help with proposals.  Don't forget that there are several Cooperative Extension Ag Science Centers across the state that may also be available to assist you or be a partner for a project.  Acequias, Pueblos, and Tribes are also qualified to apply so reach out to them as well.

Remember that you may have producers and/or other groups coming to your districts so that you can be a sponsor for a project located within your district boundaries!  The deadline is short so PLEASE do NOT put this off!

I believe that there is $175,000 available for these grants.  You may only want to apply for a $10,000- $25,000 grant but this is a GREAT opportunity to work with your producers as well as new partners.

Next, NMDA will be working on the Education, Assessment, and Outreach elements of the program - Stay tuned!!!
